A few events in the last couple of weeks.

So in May I went to a wedding for my cousin. The wedding was fun, open bar, got to hang out with my cousins who we never see. But it made me feel young. Since my cousin was somewhat old when she got married, everyone was either pregnant or had a couple kids. And there was 3 of us who were into drinking and following the no beer (or alcoholic drink) left behind rule. It kinda sucked.

So the second major thing that happend was the IAA (IMSA alumni assosciation) meeting. Another event that made me feel young. Everyone at this meeting was weird. I know that it's IMSA but we were never that weird and I was thinking the weird and social akwardness grows out of you. But I guess not. I learned that the first child of two alumni is coming to IMSA next year. Something that was really akward was calling space marshall by her first name as well as kiely or dr. magee (new president) rob and max.

Same weekend, Harry and I are hanging out and we go to the USA vs. Mexico game in the final of the Gold Cup. I bought tickets a few days beforehand so we were in the nosebleeds (which are ridiculously high). The game was 90% mexican fans with Sam's army and sporadically placed US fans. At one point we were chanting and I was getting the mexicans around me riled up. Then someone threw a rock at me and it hit me dead on the nose (it was a pebble made from the concrete stadium). I was kinda scared. Then the US won and all the mexicans went back home while we were getting our trophy.

So this brings me to a major complaint of US stadiums. WE NEED FAN BASED SECTIONS! I'm sick of sitting with a bunch of Mexicans or Polish people at US national games. And the few times I go to a Fire game there'es always some jackass cheering for houston or the other team. Why the hell can't they fix this?!

And I leave you with my favorite chant from the Sam's Army site, edited to be the original Man United song:

Tim-Timothy, Tim-Timothy, Tim-Tim-Tireau

Tim Timothy, Tim Timothy, Tim-Tim-Tireau

We have Tim Howard, so here's a big FUCK YOU!

Semester Recap and THE SUMMER!

So I've started to feel the need for more writing in my life since my carpal tunnel syndrome is gone from RHET 105. We ended writing over 90 pages that semester. That's pretty fricking ridiculous. Grades were alright with one error in the gradebook. So now I have to go through all the hoops of fixing that.

I took SPAN 141 in summer 1 and now I'm taking Calc 1. It's a gpa booster, so what? Our calc prof seems like she's never seen the light of day since she's so pale and she wears a fanny pack with a carbiner watch attached.

I took on a research position with the Roy lab, thinking I was going to get paid. But some people ended up not leaving from the lab even though they graduated, which is ridiculous. Now I just go in for fun, volunteering my time away. O well, I'll be getting credit in the fall.
