1st of many BBQ postings

So I'll be using my blog to journal my BBQ smoking.

As of now I'm using a Masterbilt 7-in-1 Smoker with propane.

Today's weather at the start (2:30pm): 90F, sunny with clouds in the sky, wind of about 5mph. The smoker is sitting in the sun.

I will be seasoning the smoker with apple wood (Weber's apple wood chunks). I put three chunks in.

I initially opened the propane valve all the way open, and the red valve all the way. I heated till 250F and slowly decreased but the temperature rose to 300F anyways. I dropped the red smoker valve all the way over 7min only for the flame to go out. I dropped the propane tank's valve a little and opened the red valve enough so the flame can sustain with the wind.

Tomorrow will the first actuall BBQ with goat ribs and chicken legs.
